Tropical Agenda for the Minorities and Marginalized (TAMM) is a minority-focused and women-led non-profit and non-political charity organization in East Africa that seeks to address the systemic inequalities and barriers that marginalized and minority groups face, striving to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

SATISFACTION

TAMM has supported me and my family in this remote village of Cadale district where other charity agencies couldn’t reach us. My family has received $ 110 from TAMM for a period of 4 months, and we used the cash to buy food. This is a testament to the organization’s resolve to reach people affected by disasters wherever they may be.

I thank TAMM for giving me the opportunity to learn tailoring skills and giving me a sewing machine to start a business. I earn an average of $ 6 per day from my tailoring business, and this helps me take care of the basic needs of my family like feeding and schools fees. I also save a little amount of money and I plan to buy a second sewing machine next year.

I was able to expand my retail business courtesy of $ 500 cash grant that I received from TAMM which enabled me to increase my sales and profit. I only started making savings after this cash support, and my family’s living standard has improved tremendously. TAMM also supported 12 other women from minority clans like me who live in this district (Afgoi).
